Derek is off to Lake Placid today after months of training. Jocelyn, Alex and Lexi are planning to be there in person, but I'll be watching online.
Go fast and enjoy the experience!

Good luck. Start as soon as possible to avoid the wind that comes up as the day advances. I'm assuming they have the TT type start again.

Quick update. Derek is doing awesome. He finished both swim loops, but only the first one will be counted since they had to pull everyone out of the water due to thunder and lightening. Derek started the bike in a downpour. It's been on and off rain and storms all day. He should be done in about an hour. Yay! He has had a smile on his face all day

Looks like he's done in a time of 11:38:02. Pretty awesome!
Are they negating peoples 2nd loop of the swim even if they didn't get pulled out of the water? It looks like Derek completed both swim loops.

Congrats!!
Mark, they subtracted the 2nd lap of the swim and T1 time. That's why his time changed. Derek finished both loops, so the first time was his complete race.

That makes absolutely no sense to count only the first lap for people who swam it all. They should just have a separate classification for people who didn't make it thru the whole swim. Anyway, I guess Derek won't be too thrilled with his sub "11" and would rather have done it the normal way. Congratulations for sticking with it in those conditions! That downhill towards Keen on the bike must have been scary.
