Hello Team,
I had a dream last night that we all met up to swim in FP. The only ones that actually got in were Tony, Pat and Joc, but I think we all helped break ice for them. I guess I'm missing everyone! I'm looking forward to the marathon being behind me and riding/running with you all!

Besides the cold, rain and 35 mph winds...it was fun!

Congratulations, Margaret! That was a big challenge! I'm sorry I missed you at mile 14. The app was suddenly slow to update so I didn't see that you crossed the 13.1 mark. I ended up missing a bunch of friends who were all around the same spot as you.

No worries V. I had friends and family along the whole route and saw only a hand full of them. Everyone looked the same...hats hoods, coats and umbrellas

OK- The best part of the day, was that I have a friend who lives right at the start, he opens his house to all runners that travel from Honolulu to Boston and invited me to hang there too. I was so thankful to have a warm and dry place to be and wait for my wave. They were a hoot! Most of the morning, I forgot I was going to have to go outside and run to Boston!. My wave started at 11:15am, I walked out of the house at 11am and Teddy Bruschi was walking down the side walk. I think he was trying to keep a low profile, and possibly my pointing and yelling his name, was not helpful. It was so cold and rainy at this point, I thought about wearing my trash bag all the way to the finish. The first 4-5 miles was a shuffle, which I expected, but didn't expect it to be as slow as it was. I had a hard time trying to get and stay warm. I think it was around Framingham when I felt like I had a little more room to get a better stride. I stopped a few times to say hello to some friends. When I got onto Boylston, I saw my family, so we took a few pictures, had a little cry together, and I ran the last little bit to the finish. Training was such a challenge. I've always wanted to run The Boston Marathon and I was so happy to finally be crossing it off my list. But, as soon as I finished, I knew I needed to do it again. It wasn't the experience I thought it would be. The weather was just so horrible! I think the rain and cold would have been ok, but the 35 MPH headwind was tough. Besides a blister on my foot from my feet from being wet all day, I recovered quickly and was hardly sore the next day. All in all, the winter prepared me to be cold and wet for long periods of time.
So, is anyone planning on riding this weekend?

Thanks for the report Margaret . Sounds like it was a really tough day . I don't know what's worse than not been able to get your temperature up !! Makes you finishing all the more impressive !!! Well done !!
