Just wanted to throw a shout out to Mark for completing the 26.2 today. I saw you at mile 14ish and cheered you on! It was a great day, and a great day to be back home.

Congratulations Dave Blume...uh, I mean Mark Walter. That last 10 miles must have felt like hell in the legs only.

Thanks V! Sorry I didn't see you, but I appreciate the cheers.
I knew going into the day that I'd run-walk at some point, but figured I'd get to mile 15 or 16 before having to do it. That wasn't the case as I really started to feel it in my legs and feet by mile 12. I based that on my last long run of 15 miles where I felt strong throughout and averaged a little over 9 minutes per mile (the 20 miler I did before that, on the other hand, didn't go quite as well). With the crowd and taper I thought I'd be stronger through more of the race but, hey, it didn't work out that way. Oh well. I was psyched to finish safe and sound, it was a beautiful day, family and friends were there to cheer me on, crowd support was incredible and it was just an epic day.
I'm already thinking I'd like to do another marathon in the fall. Anyone else?

Congrats Mark! I was tracking you but missed seeing you. What an accomplishment, especially given your recent knee surgery.

Thanks Lisa. Exactly... I will definitely take it all things considered. Plus, I know when I run the next one I'll be faster.

I'd consider a fall marathon...

I did Bay State 2 years ago. I enjoyed it. Low key, no hassle , park right next to the start line.
Though a destination race can be more fun.
I'm a definite maybe.

An amazing accomplishment Mark!!! I don't know if I'll have time to train for a marathon, but if there is a half marathon option, I'd consider it. I don't think I'll ever get in the pool enough to swim a 10K

I think my arms would fall off before I could finish a 10k swim. Like Jocelyn, if there were a half marathon option at the same race I would consider it.
